For over 20 years Community Employment Services has successfully linked employers and employees resulting in countless work experiences and job placements. We assist a wide variety of people - from those new to the community or looking for a career change, to those needing job search assistance or personal growth, to those with disabilities who may require longer term support.

We pride ourselves on excellent customer service. The staff of Community Employment Services have developed a wide range of workshops and services to assist individuals who are unemployed or underemployed. For employers this means convenient, reliable access to valuable workers as we average over 1,000 walk-in inquiries per month.

Angela Pomeroy CES Manager

Welcome! I bring over 15 years of leadership experience in both government and non-profit agencies to my new role as Manager at C.E.S. Our customers are the priority at C.E.S. – both the job seeker and the employer. My priority is to nurture a collaborative, respectful environment that empowers our team members to work to the best of their abilities to assist our customers. I strive to ensure that the team has the resources, strategies and support necessary to accomplish our goal of delivering Courteous Efficient Sincere service. I am very fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful team and I am confident that your experience with us will be fulfilling.

Along with the tools, skills, and ability to help you make an informed career decision, I also have a strong network in the community with employers and community resources. I’m likely the first staff member you will meet upon entering the CES building! I pride myself on being courteous and efficient. Shannon Mills Vocational Evaluator/Facilitator

I’ve been with CES since 1998. I wear a number of different hats here and can help you in many ways. Are you struggling to determine what your strengths and interests are? If so, you may be a great candidate for a vocational assessment. Would you like to make a career change, but aren’t sure what direction you would like to take? Come and see me about attending a Career Charting workshop. Lastly, I teach Resume Writing once a week, so if you need assistance with your resume, I’m your gal!

Wendy Fayad-Dennis ASSETS Coordinator

The ASSETS program assists individuals with challenges that make finding and keeping employment difficult. As the Coordinator of the program, I am passionate about my desire to help others. I have worked in the educational system and community mental health in Saskatchewan and since moving to Alberta, I have worked in this community as a nurse, a group facilitator, and a job developer. I would be happy to assist you to develop a plan focused on a successful return to employment. I’m only a phone call away!

Hi, my main role at CES is as Coordinator of the STRIVE program. If you have an interest in working in Rehabilitation, the Trades, or in the Service Industry but have been unable to land or keep the job you’d like to have, come in and talk to me about some skills training. I can help you identify the barriers you may be facing and help you create a plan of action to get you on your way to achieving your goals.

Shelly Middleton Administrative Assistant

I’ve been with CES/REDI since 1998 and my responsibilities include taking care of the day-to-day details in our office. I provide administrative support to our Manager and our staff members. Our services are funded by the Alberta Government and I also ensure all the data entry for our customers is entered into the government database so we can continue to provide our services to those that are unemployed or underemployed at no cost!

EDGE/Opening Doors to Opportunities Coordinator

I work full time as the Program Coordinator for EDGE and Opening Doors to Opportunities. Both these programs are in place to assist persons with disabilities or any type of employment challenge with their career decision-making. Finding and keeping a job that “fits” the person is extremely rewarding and I love assisting people and listening to their unique stories. My works also involves workshop facilitation and job developing. I look forward to meeting you and taking the role as your “career coach.”

I’m another “old dog” at CES having been with the organization since 1990. I’m delighted to be the Health and Safety Coordinator for our parent organization – REDI Enterprises. I also truly enjoy assisting injured Workers to find new suitable career opportunities through our contract with CBI Physiotherapy & Health as the Vocational Counselor. Hi, I’m one of the newer Job Developers at CES. I also teach Resume Writing classes. I can help you to write a resume and cover letter, and then find a job. I also work with employers in our community to help them find the right people to fill job openings in their businesses.

Hello! I am the newest addition to the team of job developers here at C.E.S. I work with people from a number of the different programs that we offer, and my main goal is to either find employment or work experience opportunities for clients. Many of those that I assist have some barriers to employment. That gives me a unique opportunity to not only work with companies to find jobs for people, but also to show that when given a chance, everyone can be a valuable member of the workforce.
